I know, I know. It’s not the norm to see men’s material on here. But since I’m writing for women (mainly married women) I assume there is a man in your life you want to influence and encourage. So with this in mind, I bring you the men’s counterpart Bible to the She Reads Truth Bible that I took a look at here. The men’s version is appropriately titled He Reads Truth Bible and has some similar features to the She Reads Truth Bible, but with a more masculine design.
A Look at He Reads Truth
Like the She Reads Truth Bible, each book of the Bible is complete with a key verse featured at the beginning of the book in decorative text as well as details about the book of the Bible.
Just like the She Reads Truth Bible, a reading plan is offered at the beginning of each book of the Bible. This means that corresponding verses are selected to complement your reading. There’s also a helpful timeline to help you better understand the historical context.

There’s special features in the Bible sprinkled throughout that are meant to enrich the study for your guy. For instance, there’s a section on prayer and the Letters to the Seven Churches in Revelation.
Our Overall Take
Let me start with the aesthetics first. Like the She Reads Truth Bible, the He Reads Truth Bible has a minimalistic design on the outside of either cloth overboard, LeatherTouch, or genuine leather. In cloth overboard there’s Evergreen Indexed (pictured in this post), original Evergreen (non-indexed), and Charcoal. (I’m not seeing an indexed option for the Charcoal color.) Then for the LeatherTouch option: Black LeatherTouch Indexed and Black LeatherTouch (non-indexed) and actual leather: Brown Genuine Leather Indexed.
The inside, of course, has those appealing designs featuring a key verse for each book of the Bible. A critique we had of the design of the Bible was that although it was nice to see a rustic manly look with the verses, the colors used were a basic black and navy blue. I can understand navigating away from pastel colors and typical feminine colors like pink and purple, but we felt like it was missing some neutral colors like orange, green, and the like.
My husband mentioned that he really likes the Bible‘s design and the special features sprinkled throughout, but he was having a hard time figuring out what made the He Reads Truth Bible a man’s Bible other than the design. For instance, the She Reads Truth Bible has devotionals written for women by women. It would have been nice to see the same concept for this Bible. That would be our biggest criticism.
Other than the couple of critiques we had, we feel like the this Bible makes a great gift for the special man in your life.
Hope is still an option,
We received this Bible for free in exchange for an honest review.
Wow Sarah, I’ve looked through the ‘She Reads Truth’ Bible at Hobby Lobby, but never saw a ‘He Reads Truth’ Version before. I wonder why they left out the devotionals for the men. Thank you for your honest feedback. My hubby does like reading the commentary notes in his Bible. ❤
So interesting to hear they sell the She Reads Truth Bible at Hobby Lobby. I do really think it’s an awesome idea that the publishers created a male counterpart to She Reads Truth since there seems to be TONS of women Bibles on the market but not a whole heck of a lot for guys. Thanks for dropping by to share your thoughts, Donna! 🙂
I’m impressed! I had no idea they made a He Reads Truth version. She reads truth is amazing so I’m sure this is as well. This is a great suggestion for the men in our lives.
Yes, I think it was a great idea for the publishers to create He Reads Truth. And yes, I do think the Bible is pretty amazing. 🙂
The He Reads Truth Bible is great way to get into the word. It’s an incredible gift for a man who is looking to understand God’s word more.
Yes, agreed, Julie!
I’ve never heard of the He Reads Truth Bible. Honestly, my husband is a little picky about his Bible, so I’m not sure he would like it 🙂 Great review, though. It does look like a great Bible.
Glad you liked the review, Lydia!
Great review of the He Reads Truth Bible. I feel like I could give a pretty good explanation and see if my husband would be interested. It looks enormous when it’s open, but normal size when it’s closed… Thanks for a great review!
Glad you enjoyed the review, AnnMarie!
Wow. I’ve heard of this Bible before, but I didn’t realize exactly how much it held!
Yes, it does hold quite a bit! Thanks for dropping by, Jessie! ?
This Bible looks like such a great gift for my husband! I always have such a hard time finding something for him.
So glad this looks like it could work for your hubby, Erin. Yes, men can be a bit more difficult to shop for in my opinion. Thanks for dropping by! ?
